Recovery @ Antioch

Proverbs 27:17

In October of 2023 Ashley Arnold reached out to our pastor about starting a recovery meeting at Antioch. On the 12th of January 2024 the meetings started on Friday nights. They haven't stopped since. Over the years we have grown and learned what it means to recover together. We Do Recover. We have to lean on Christ and give Him what our lives have become but it's worth it all. All the pain, all the tears, all the prayers that go into recovery. Ashley started our recovery ministry using curriculum from Recovery Alive, Inc. based in Selma, NC. Here is some of their history. Recovery Alive was founded in 2020 by John Eklund during the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis. John Eklund has 20+ years experience working in recovery ministry, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is an ordained pastor currently ministering at Temple City Church. In 2020, John and his team prioritized the need for accessible online recovery meetings, making the commitment to build a Christ-centered recovery program that had the ability to be 100% online AND in-person. Since then, Recovery Alive has grown to include 70+ churches who have partnered together to launch Recovery Alive Meetings around the world.

Weekend Recovery Opportunities

Friday 6:00pm (Meal)  6:45 (Power Group) - 8:30pm

On Fridays we meet together around a meal and share fellowship. After the meal at 6:45 we have a "Power group" meeting where we have a time of worship and testimony or teaching about one of the 12 steps. After the power group is over we have "People groups" where Men & Women have separate support groups that discuss one of the core questions from the Recovery Alive handbook.

Food Pantry & Prayer - Every 3rd Saturday 12:00pm-2:00pm

Every third Saturday we sponsor a Food Pantry in the fellowship hall where we allow anyone to come and get food. We also give out information about the Church, it's events and ask people if we can pray with them. Sometimes it's awkward, sometimes, it's powerful. God always is reaching people this is one way he uses us to do His work.
